DH Jacob was born in Montreal, Canada in 1938, and achieved a university degree in Commerce at Dalhousie University of Halifax, Nova Scotia. His grandparents were born in Dorbyan, Lithuania and migrated to Canada in 1906. His father was one of the earliest of his extended family to be born in the new world.
After graduating, Jacob worked for a time in the commercial field, but found that it was not to his liking. He then began an odyssey which was to last for fifteen years and take him to more than 100 countries, causing him to perform every type of job imaginable.
It was on his journeys that he met Marybeth, an Australian who was to become his wife. His traveling ended and he settled in Australia, and was introduced to a peace and stability he had never known.
Since his arrival in Australia, he has driven taxis, operated an arts and crafts shop, been a picture framer, a credit manager and an office manager. He presently divides his energies between picture framing and debt collecting.
DH and Marybeth live on the New South Wales Central Coast. They have one child, Charles, a university graduate in computer science, presently employed in the IT field.
DH Jacob is fluent in English, French, German and Hebrew, with lesser capabilities in
other languages.
